Mactan-Cebu International/ Domestic Airport is the
gateway to Cebu island.
from here your just a taxi ride, bus transfer and boat trip
away from diving paridise
Transfer from
the airport to the North Bus Terminal is short taxi ride. Yellow airport taxis
are always ready and waiting outside the arival lobby, but for a more cost
effective option you can find local white taxis a short walk away. Follow
the outgoing traffic for about 500m to find the local taxi rank. from there
located only 7Km NW of the airport is the North Bus Terminal. your
fare should cost around 150 pesos depending on traffic.
At the North Bus Terminal you need to jump on a bus headed to Maya. where the bus is going is always clearly displayed in the front window. The journey takes 3 1/2 to 4 hours, air-con 200 pesos, non air-con 190 pesos. Maya is the last stop on the line so you dont need to worry about missing it and the bus conductors are always helpful.
From Maya a local boat goes across morning and afternoon with a break at lunch time, 'till around 17:00.
It takes about 1/2 hour and costs 80 pesos. First boat from Maya is at 06:30 Be
aware that a ferry will not leave unless it has enough people, so aim to arrive
earlier rather than later.
If
you choose to dive with Blue Heaven Malapascua.please inform us of your arrival time in
Maya, so we can pick you up and bring you straight to your hotel.
When arriving/departing from Malapascua's shores be
prepared to either jump into the shallow waters or walk down a rickety plank.
At low tide you can transfer to a smaller boat for 20 pesos.
There is no transport on the island, not that you will need any, everywhere
is just a short walk away!
